04Mobile App Development

I design and build mobile apps, starting with the interface.

Mobile products taken from user flows and high-fidelity screens through to a working app — designed for a thumb and a small screen from the first sketch.

01 / What’s included
01

User flows and screen design for iOS and Android

02

Interactive prototypes to test before anything is built

03

A design system that holds up across every screen in the app

04

Build, or handoff to your development team — whichever fits

05

Store-ready assets: icons, screenshots and listing imagery

02 / How it works
01

Scope

What the app has to do on day one, separated from everything it could eventually do.

02

Design

Flows, then screens, designed for a thumb on a small screen rather than shrunk from desktop.

03

Prototype

Clickable on a real device, because a mobile interface cannot be judged on a laptop.

04

Build or hand off

Taken through to a working app, or specced for your team to build. Both are fine.

05 / Questions

Have you shipped a mobile app?

Not yet to a public store. My mobile work so far is design: Foodi, a food delivery app interface currently in progress, and mobile surfaces within multi-platform projects like CamShield. Mobile app design is a listed skill on my CV; a shipped store app is not, and I would rather say so.

Do you design for iOS and Android?

Yes — flows and screens for both, following each platform's conventions rather than forcing one design onto the other.

Can you work with our existing app team?

Yes, and for an app already in development that is usually the right split: I design, your team builds, with a proper handoff of specs and components.

What do you need to start?

What the app does, who it is for, and which single job it has to do well on day one. Everything else can follow a first release.
